Concept WP Theme is Released!

Concept WP Theme is Released!

It took me a few months to actually finish it off, but the Concept Wordpress theme was finally released this morning at ThemeForest! This is my second or third WP theme being released at ThemeForest, and I think I’m finally getting into a rhythm of releasing these themes at a higher quality and pace than the first one (Atlantica), which took me a while to wrap my head around the best way to offer a theme up for public use.

It’s funny, but the differences between working on a custom WP theme for a client and working on one for public use are vast. It might sound odd, but the prerequisites for quality, documentation, and “unbreakable” layouts are much higher when you have a potential of thousands of people installing your theme as opposed to one client who has a narrowly defined usage. I’m just now beginning to really have a respect for theme authors like those at WooThemes and other high end stores – it really is a different ballgame altogether when you don’t know the level of tech-savyness (not to mention the hosting environment) of the end-user. In this kinda of scenario, usability will almost always take dominance over visual appeal. Anyways, take a minute to check out the theme or leave a comment on the product page, I read all of them and it’s nice to have support over there. Cheers!

Atlantica for WordPress (Light and Dark)

Atlantica for WordPress (Light and Dark)

May has been an unexpectedly busy month for – I’m working on a few big (and fun) projects that I can’t really say too much about yet, and I’m also completing an intense marketing course at Cal Poly with a graduate student (which is turning out to be incredibly educational). I don’t have much to  Read more »

Selling Stock Artwork : First Impressions

For better or worse, the stock art marketplace has become a permanent fixture of the design & web development world. Ignore it at your own peril. In a previous post, I introduced my new plan to begin investigating the value of affiliate networks and selling stock artwork.  This post will dig into the latter. Rich  Read more »
